Our 5-day backpack trip to Ho Chih Min City, South Vietnam – 15 May, 2011. We have specially selected this destination to find out how the people  have progressed and their living culture after the Vietnam war period from the 1970’s – 1980’s.

Although there was language barrier, we managed to talk the hotel staff and find out that the city dwellers do not seem to hold any hatred or grudges when we brought up the topic concerning the brutal war crimes and their sufferings.

At the time of our visit in the month of May, the climate is very hot and we seem to be walking back to the early 1980’s period as developments in Ho Chi Minh still have a long way to go. The city roads are congested with motor bikes, electric cables hanging everywhere, the people sitting, eating and talking leisurely by the roadside.
